Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Trauma Intervention Programs of San Diego, Inc. We are continually seeking compassionate individuals who want to take action in making a difference in our community. Joining the TIP team is truly a life changing volunteer opportunity.
During the TIP training academy volunteers will learn the five emotional first aid skills of reaching out, protecting, reassuring, organizing and reinforcing. Becoming a volunteer requires mandatory attendance at the 40 hours of classroom training, a 3-month field-training program, plus 3-hour continuing education meetings once per month.

Volunteer and training requirements
Due to the high-sensitivity of work involved within the program,
all volunteers must meet the following requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Clean criminal history (complete background investigation will be performed)
- Clean driving record
- Current auto insurance
- Commit to (3) 12-hour shifts per month for a minimum of one year
- Attend monthly continuing education meetings
- Access to a cellular device to use on shift
- Attend 40-hour training academy including field training meeting
- Regular access to internet and email account for communications
